A research camp is taking a lot of damage from unexpected ice storms! The crew will use their knowledge of fractions to investigate and put an end to the source of the ice. Is this a naturally occurring weather phenomenon? Or is somebody behind the attacks?

3-Dimensional Science

Science and Engineering Practices

Asking Questions and Defining Problems

  • Ask questions that can be investigated and predict reasonable outcomes based on patterns such as cause and effect relationships.

Developing and Using Models

  • Develop and/or use models to describe and/or predict phenomena.

Planning and Carrying Out Investigations

  • Make predictions about what would happen if a variable changes.

Analyzing and Interpreting Data

  • Analyze and interpret data to make sense of phenomena, using logical reasoning, mathematics, and/or computation.

Using Mathematics and Computational Thinking

  • Describe, measure, estimate and/or graph quantities to address scientific and engineering questions and problems.
