Faculty Mission

This mission revolves around the phenomenon of space objects entering Earth's atmosphere. The crew's objective is to analyze incoming space debris, determine at-risk areas of impact, and implement a plan to minimize destruction.

Participants engage in asking questions about the asteroid, its trajectory, and the potential consequences of impact. They need to define the problem and identify possible solutions.

Participants utilize the data gathered from scanning the asteroid to analyze and interpret the information to make informed decisions.

Participants analyze ordered pairs and use their knowledge of coordinate planes to determine at-risk areas of impact.

Participants must construct explanations for the best course of action and design solutions to destroy or redirect the asteroid.

Participants must understand the cause and effect relationship between their actions and the outcomes in the mission. Their decisions and choices directly impact the success or failure of the mission.

The mission presents a system of defense stations, navigation, repairs, and investigations that participants need to understand and us effectively to accomplish their objectives.
